2006 Casa Barranca Cabernet Sauvignon

Organic wines are all the rage right now and this is an exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon from one of the first certified organic wineries in the California. There is a common misconception that organic wines do not contain sulfites, this is absolutely wrong. Sulfites naturally occur during the fermentation process, so unfortunately there is no getting around the sulfites. However, most organic wineries do not add any additional sulfites to their wines like some non-organic wineries do as the sulfites act as a preservative. This wine is a classic blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot and offers lovely aromas of cassis, violets and cedar. The lively palate exudes with flavors of black currant and raspberry accented with vanilla and oak leading to a long round tannic finish.
